El Trillo

El Trillo Review

A long-standing favorite for traditional Andalusian cuisine, El Trillo could fit in happily in Madrid with its hams over the bar, well-worn tiles, and dark wood furniture. Alcoves add to the intimate feel, and the outside tables overlook the smart shopping street Marques de Larios. The menu includes regional specialties like Córdoba-style oxtail and medallions of monkfish, as well as more unusual dishes such as a starter of artichokes filled with baby broad beans and goose liver paté. Desserts are nothing special; instead nip across the road to Lepanto, the city's most famous café and patisserie.
