Fuente de Piedra
Fuente de Piedra Review
Europe's major nesting area for the greater flamingo is Fuente de Piedra, a shallow saltwater lagoon. In February and March, these birds arrive from Africa by the thousands to breed, returning to Africa in August when the water dries up. The visitor center has information on wildlife. Bring binoculars if you have them. On weekends and public holidays in April and May, which is flamingo hatching time, the visitor center remains opens from 10 to 7.
