La Sucursal

La Sucursal Review

La Sucursal is solid proof that Valencia can match the contemporary cuisine of Barcelona. This thoroughly modern but cozy spot within the Institut Valencià d'Art Modern is simply a taste sensation. You won't leave with a full wallet, but it's unlikely you'll sample venison carpaccio anywhere else or partake of an arroz caldoso de bogavante (soupy rice with lobster) any better. The arroz meloso de pulpitos y navajas (creamy rice with baby octopus and razor clams) is yet another creative riff on Valencia's quintessential dish, the paella. A great choice for lunch is the informal downstairs eatery, on the terrace of the museum; the €12 prix-fixe lunch gets you a three-course feast.
