Fodor's Expert Review Convento de la Anunciación

Salamanca Church

Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.

Archbishop Alonso de Fonseca I lies here, in this splendid Gothic-style marble tomb created by Diego de Siloe during the early 1500s on the outskirts of the historic center. The magnificent churrigueresque altarpieces depicting scenes in the life of Jesus were recently restored. The cloister is closed to the public as the convent, aka "Las Úrsulas," is still active.
