From the stately entrance to the high-ceiling guest rooms, this lovely hotel offers a true European experience. Rooms come with lots of upscale services, including twice-daily maid service and complimentary Internet hookups; the double-glazed windows eliminate virtually all street noise. Mahogany antique furniture pieces and marble bathrooms add to the elegance. The sitting areas, hallways, and breakfast room are all spotless, spacious, warm, and quiet. Staff is helpful
and can tell you all about Salamanca.

We stayed here on 05/20 and 05/21/04. This place is just excelent. The rooms are very large and beautifully furnished. The Service is the best that I have received even when compared with 5 stars very expensive hotels. Location is very good and it is a tremendous bargain with the new Euro currency in spain. If I go to Salamanca again, this is where I would stay.

Totally lived up to expectations - the staff saw us thru the window and were out in the street as we approached already helping us w/our luggage. The room was absolutely gorgeous, very elegant. Staff again was very helpful - didn't wait for us to ask questions of where to go and what to do - they started out giving us a map of city and recommendations of what to see first, then what to do next as our time allowed. Excellent choice.

We've just spent five (far too few) nights at the Rector and would be tempted to go back to Salamanca just to stay there again, even if the city itself weren't so fab. Our "superior" room with city view was large, luxurious and so comfortable that we'd have just stayed happily in it the whole time if there hadn't been so many wonderful things to see and do in the city. Either the hotel or the city would be worth a trip out of your way. The
combination of the two is worth a special trip.
