Fodor's Review:

At the top of Pedraza de la Sierra is the Renaissance Castillo Pedraza de la Sierra, a 14th-century stone castle that the painter Ignacio Zuloaga bought in the early 20th century. Two sons of the French king Francis I were held hostage here after the Battle of Pavia, together with their majordomo, the father of the Renaissance, poet Pierre de Ronsard. Visiting times are valid except when Zuloaga's heirs are in residence.

  • Cost: EUR 4
