Fodor's Review:

Moors and Christians once did battle for the 10th-century Castillo de Consuegra, and during the second week in August the town reenacts their medieval conflict twice a day. In the 12th century the castle housed the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, and you can imagine that most notorious knight of all, Don Quixote, tilting at the windmills. The ramparts have classic views of the La Mancha plains and saffron fields.
