Drive through this busy town, heading west, and cross the River Carrión to reach the Real Monasterio San Zoilo on the left. Begun in the 10th century, this former Benedictine monastery has magnificent 16th-century Gothic-Renaissance cloisters and the elaborate tombs of the condes (counts) of Carrión. You can visit weekdays 10:30-2 (and 4-8, June-August) and on weekends 10:30-2 and 4 -8.
