Fodor's Review

A few minutes' walk north of San Román, this 16th-century convent church is where you'll find the earliest of El Greco's Toledo paintings, as well as the crypt where the artist is believed to be buried. The friendly nuns at the convent will show you around its odd little museum, which includes documents bearing El Greco's signature. Ask them to turn on the cellar light, for a glimpse of the artist's simple tomb.
