Casa Pozo Review

This longtime favorite, a León fixture since 1936, is across from City Hall and next to Antoni Gaudí's Palacio Botines on the historic Plaza de San Marcelo. Past the small bar, the bright dining rooms are furnished with heavy Castilian furniture. Owner Gabriel del Pozo Álvarez—also known as Pin—supervises the busy kitchen, while his son, also called Pin, is maître d'. Specialties include asado de lechal (roast lamb), cangrejo de río con almejas (river crab with clams), bacalao con pimientos (cod with pimiento), and merluza rebozada (breaded deep-fried hake).
