cathedral Review

Though the foundations of Valladolid's cathedral were laid in late-Gothic times, the building owes much of its appearance to designs executed in the late 16th century by Juan de Herrera, the architect of the Escorial. Further work was carried out by Alberto de Churriguera in the early 18th century. The Juni altarpiece is the one bit of color in an otherwise visually chilly place.
