Ermita de San Saturio

Ermita de San Saturio Review

The poet Machado wrote fondly of strolling along the Duero River from the Monastery of San Polo to the Ermita de San Saturio, a unique 18th-century chapel built into the steep rocky hillside. You'll follow a poplar-lined path from a parking and picnic area for about 1 km (½ mi) to a little chapel perched above the cave where the Anchorite St. Saturio fasted and prayed. You can climb up to San Saturio through the cave.
