San Juan de Duero

San Juan de Duero Review

Across the Duero River from Soria is the Monastery of San Juan de Duero(also known as Los Arcos), once the property of the Knights Hospitalers, a monastic military order of the Crusades. Outside the church are the curious ruins of a Romanesque cloister, displaying a stunning example of interlaced arching with Moorish echoes. The church itself, now maintained by the Museo Numantino, is a small museum of Romanesque art and architecture.
