Hostal Cánovas Review

Near Plaza España, in the heart of the new town, this is one of Cuenca's best bargains. The lobby's not impressive, but the inviting rooms more than compensate with hardwood floors, gold-trimmed burgundy fabrics, and decorative white moldings. Brothers Edilio and Paulino, the owners, spent more than two years restoring the run-down 1878 building before they opened the hostal in 1998.
