Up an unpromising street north of the center is one of the city's culinary surprises. Run by Erika Sanz and Ignacio Solana, both trained by Ferran Adriá in El Bulli, this small restaurant is frequented by locals and tourists in the know. Decor is minimalist white with parquet floors and chocolate walls. With an emphasis on fresh produce, specialties on the menu include a foie gras mille-feuille with apple and smoked cheese, and steak tartare with sweet mustard and black
truffles. Finish off with avocado yogurt with strawberries and blood orange sorbet. The seven-course tasting menu (about €40) changes twice a month; like the rest of the menu, it's not cheap, but it's a very good value for what it is.
