César Manrique disciples were behind this giant colonial resort, where the tropical gardens, wooden balconies, and cane furniture all evoke Havana. The huge lobby atrium continues the tropical theme— you half expect parrots to be flying around—and the outdoor area has room for four pools, lots of shady bars, and white villas with cobalt trim, softened by ruby bourgainvillea. The large, comfortable rooms are done in blue, and their balconies overlook the garden, pool,
or beach. Be sure to visit the Canary Museum here, which has displays of traditional implements and costumes. There's a nude zone on the grounds.
