Now used for the Centro Cívico de la Bolsa, a municipal cultural center, the palace has medieval ceilings that are covered with graceful vaulting. This ancient building, oddly and erroneously known as "La Bolsa" (The Stock Exchange)—though no exchange of stock has ever taken place here—is thought to have been built over a 14th-century structure. Immigrants from Central Europe moved here in the 18th century and apparently set up such a thriving commercial enterprise

that it became known as "The Exchange." The building takes its name from Leandro Yohn, one of the successful merchants.
