Local fishermen rub elbows with visiting elites at this pearl of a tavern and restaurant. The tapas will tempt you to forgo the main meal but you won't want to miss dinner in the second-floor dining room overlooking Castro's weathered fishing port. Besugo (sea bream) is unbeatable.

Maison Marinero has been in the guide books for years as one of THE places to eat in Castro. So, having recently moved to Castro, we finally went there. It was a disappointment, not at all inspiring or even good. Go next door to El Segoviano if you want good food, or better still, go to the little bar on the other side, Alfredos, and stuff yourself with his delicious tapas for less.
