Fodor's Review:

Fernando Canales creates sleek, contemporary cuisine here on a par with the Basque Country's finest with seasonal offerings ranging from truffles in cream of potato and egg in winter to a superb crab salad in summer. This luminous corner of the Euskalduna palace overlooks the Nervión River, the hills of Artxanda above, and Bilbao. The panoramic elevator up to the restaurant is guaranteed to jump-start appetite-enhancing adrenaline.

We were disappointed after such a rave review. Very welcoming terrace, great service and good food. However, by international standards the cuisine overall is just slightly above average. For the price the experience should have been much better. Expensive by any measure.

If you take the set price meal for lunch, this represents excellent value given this chef has a Michelin star. On a warm day, there is a terrace overlooking the river.
