All international and domestic flights arrive at El Prat de Llobregat Airport, 14 km (9 mi) south of Barcelona. Most flights from the United States connect in Madrid or at other European points; only Continental, Delta, and Iberia fly nonstop to Barcelona.
The Aerobus leaves the airport for Plaça de Catalunya every 15 minutes (6 AM-11 PM) on weekdays and every 30 minutes (6:30 AM-10:30 PM) on weekends. From Plaça de Catalunya, it leaves for the airport every 15 minutes (5:30 AM-10 PM) on weekdays and every 30 minutes (6:30 AM-10:30 PM) on weekends. The fare is EUR 4.10 (round-trip EUR 7).
Cab fare from the airport into town is about EUR 25.
The RENFE airport train is inexpensive and works well, as long as you leave plenty of time at either end, since trains run only every half hour. From the airport, the RENFE station is a 10- to 15-minute walk (with moving walkway) from your gate through the terminal and over an overpass. Trains leave the airport every 30 minutes between 6 AM and 12 midnight, stopping at the Estació de Sants, then at the Plaça de Catalunya, later at the Arc de Triomf, and finally at Clot. Trains going to the airport leave Estació de Sants every 20 minutes from 5:25 AM to midnight. The one-way fare is EUR 2.60.
