Fodor's Review

At the bottom of Gràcia between the Diagonal and Carrer Còrsega, this often overlooked Moderniste house (not open to the public) built in 1911 is a good one to add to your collection. For a look at the best side of this lower Gràcia Art Nouveau gem, cut down past Casa Fuster at the bottom of Gran de Gràcia, take a left on Bonavista, then a right on Santa Teresa down to Casa Comalat just across Carrer Còrsega. This Salvador Valeri i Pupurull creation is one of Barcelona's most interesting Moderniste houses, with its undulating polychrome ceramic balconies and its Gaudí-on-steroids columned arches on the ground level. Look for the curious wooden galleries, and don't miss a look into the excellent Bar Mut at Pau Claris 192 just across the street.
