Estevet and his family are in charge of everything from the kitchen to the front door, and the carefully elaborated Catalan cuisine sparkles, especially at these prices. Facing the journalism school, this romantic little spot near the MACBA (Contemporary Art Museum) is popular with journalists, students, and artists. Try the asparagus cooked over coals, the chopitos gaditanos (deep-fried baby octopus), or the magret de pato (duck breast). The house wine is inexpensive.

We were a little lost as to what to have for dinner, since we are new to Barcelona, short on money, but still looking for good Catalan food. We saw this place on fodors.com and it didn't disappoint. The price was very affordable, and the presentation was impressive. Recommended to anyone wanting good Catalan food.

If you like a restaurant with an eclectic but romantic atmosphere; this is the place to go to. Easy to find from Gran Via and just in the beginning of Raval this is a great find for great taste and little money. The food is great and service is excellent and professional! Main courses are available between EUR 6 and EUR 17. Try the Esparrago verde with a great sauce as an appetizer or the Butifarra artesana as main course.
