This far-flung, leafy park on a hill to the south of town requires some hiking between sights and lacks the intensity and color of Barcelona street life, but the art is world class. Named for the Roman god Jove, or Jupiter, Montjuïc is best reached by taxi, by Bus 61, on foot from Plaça Espanya, or by the funicular that operates from the Paral.lel. The cross-harbor cable car from Barceloneta or from the Jaume I midstation in the port is another, spectacular, approach (acrophobes, be warned).
