$$-$$$, Eclectic, Raval
Fodor's Review:
A former umbrella factory beyond the Raval on the hillside descending from Montjuïc, this little gem of a restaurant in a loftlike ground floor has become a big favorite of English-speaking visitors to Barcelona and local food fanatics alike. Aussie Sarah Stothart's three-course menu with some choice for less then EUR 40 and a five-course set taster's menu at under EUR 60 are what you get, and all of it is original and delicious. Everything from the spinach gnocchi made with goat cheese from Ronda (that people describe as "like eating clouds") to the dhoa, an Egyptian speciality made of ground almonds, coriander, cumin, cinnamon, and several other ingredients that may vary according to the weather (literally, from winter to summer, ingredients change with the climate) is as light, fresh, and filled with taste.
