Gourmets, gourmands, cognoscenti, and epicureans of all stripes recognize Ca l'Isidre as the finest restaurant in Barcelona. Just off Avinguda del Paral.lel in the darkest Raval, this is a favorite with Barcelona's art crowd. Paintings and engravings by Miró, Dalí, Joan Pere Viladecans, and other stars line the walls. The traditional yet contemporary Catalan cooking draws on fresh produce from the Boqueria and has a slight French accent. Isidre's wines are invariably novelties from all over the Iberian Peninsula; ask for his advice and you'll get a great wine as well as an oenology, geography, and history course delivered with charm, brevity, and wit. The homemade foie gras is superb. Come and go by cab at night; the area can be shady.

When of those restaurants which was for sure good years ago but now just looks totally outdated. Owners are not nice at all (despite pretending), they haven't invested a penny for years and prices are ... out of the moon. You can eat in any Michelin star restaurant in Barcelona for half the price of this place. Would absolutely not recommending there. Hope this is helpful to someone, Ian
