Fodor's Review

With its glass-walled reception area on the corner of Pas de l'Ensenyança and Carrer Ferran, this spotless, well-lit place has standard rooms with wooden floorboards, patterned gray drapes and bedspreads, and solid walnut doors. Passatge del Crèdit, on the other side of the hotel, provides a particular association with the Catalan painter Joan Miró: the Rialto incorporates the old Miró family home at Crèdit No.4, and the room where the artist was born is now the hotel's

Suite 330 (€315).

Great Location is the Only Saving Grace

The Location could not have been better, everything else needs improvement. To say the room was small is to be generous. To say that it begs for a remodel is to be kind. To call the bed lumpy is an understatment. It is clean, and the location is perfect and with the dollar/euro ratio, it was cheap ($94/night)and Barcelona is so wonderful you won't be in the hotel much.

Brrrr ....

Really well located, yes, but .... If you go in winter, make sure you get a room where the heating works. Ours was criminally cold. After two days of complaining, it turned out they knew all along there was a problem, but just didn't want to admit it. Other guests were complaining about the same thing, so this was not an isolated problem. There were also complaints about a lack of hot water (maybe the pipe broke again?). In the second room we had,

water was coming through the bathroom ceiling. As for the staff, a bit of a mixture, ranging from quite friendly to frankly obnoxious.

Great room!

The room itself was wonderful! It was very spacious. The staff did not speak English very well and I found it hard to communicate with them.

good location ...

the hotel is in a good location; our room was small but comfortable. The only complaint that I had was that the 2nd and 3rd day we were there, they ran out of hot water at 7:30 in the morning (explanation was a broken pipe), but the front desk was quick to respond: they gave us the key to an unoccupied room so that we could take showers. Housekeeping was incredibly clean and thorough.
