The stained glass panels in the lobby and the bar demonstrate the Moderniste origins of this smallish, superbly located hotel. The guest rooms are more restrained, with striped bedspreads and contemporary furnishings in soothing cream and beige tones. Most standard rooms have twin beds; be sure to specify if you prefer a double. The roof terrace (closed Dec.–Feb.) has a bar and a plunge pool, and good views of Montjuic and Tibidabo.

Rooms were clean, modern and a decent size. It was under US$100 a night in late May 2000, which given the location and the quality of the rooms, was an excellent deal!
