Surrounded by bougainvillea-festooned villas above Barcelona's Passeig de la Bonanova, this shiny place has a hot tub in every room, gleaming halls, and public areas of stone, steel, and glass run by a pleasant staff. Rooms are polished with state-of-the equipment and contemporary designer furnishings. In summer, upper Barcelona is noticeably cooler, not to mention quieter at night. The Turó de Vilana is a 10-minute walk from the Sarrià train that connects you with the city center in a quarter of an hour.
