Built into what used to be a port warehouse, this state-of-the-art museum is interactive (visitors can try on armor or ride a mechanical horse along with activating computerized displays), making you part of Catalonian history. Beginning from prehistoric times, the emergence of the language and identity of Catalonia is traced through more than 3,000 years into the contemporary democratic era. Explanations of the exhibits appear in Catalan, Castilian, and English. Guided tours are available on Sunday at noon and 1 PM. The rooftop cafeteria, open to the general public, has excellent views over the harbor.
