Gran Hotel la Florida

Fodor's Review:

This gem of a hotel has unparalleled views over Barcelona, water sculptures everywhere but in your bed, a superb restaurant (L'Orangerie), and designer suites that are difficult to leave. Twenty minutes (and euros) from the port, this design hotel first opened in 1925 has roared back to the forefront of Barcelona's most stylish lodgings. Pros: Panoramic views, artistic design and horizon pool, friendly and attentive service. Con: A half-hour taxi ride from the center of town.
