Owner Bruno Figueras and designer Cristina Gabà have created a unique oasis of taste in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. Built into a 17th-century palace over one of the Gothic Quarter's smallest and most charming squares, Plaça Sant Felip Neri, the Neri is a singular counterpoint of ancient and avant-garde design. The rooms are medievalesque yet clean lined, hard edged, and equipped with great facilities. Pros: Central location, roof terrace for cocktails and breakfast. Cons: Noise from the echo-chamber square can be a problem on summer nights (and winter mornings when kindergarten convenes), pretty but impractical design details such as the hanging bed lights.
