El Vaso de Oro Review
A favorite with gourmands from Barcelona and beyond, this often overcrowded little counter serves some of the best beer and tapas in town. The artisanal draught beer, specially brewed for this classic bar, is drawn and served with loving care, with just the right amount of foam and always at the correct temperature. The high rate of consumption ensures you will never encounter a stale keg. To eat, the solomillo con foie y cebolla (beef filet mignon with duck liver and onions) is an overwhelming favorite, but the fresh fish prepared a la plancha (on the grill) is also excellent. If you avoid peak local lunch and dinner hours (2-4 pm and 9-11 pm) you will have better luck carving out a place to perch your food and drink.
