Euskal Etxea Review
An elbow-shaped, pine-panel space, this spot (one of the Sagardi group of Basque restaurants) is one of the better grazing destinations in the Gothic Quarter, with a colorful array of tapas and canapés on the bar ranging from the olive-pepper-anchovy on a toothpick to chunks of tortilla or pimientos de piquillo (red piquillo peppers) stuffed with codfish paste. An excellent and usually completely booked restaurant (don't miss the Euskal Txerria confit and crispy suckling pig with thistle and walnuts) and a Basque cultural circle and art gallery round out this social and gastronomical oasis.
