The original location of what is now a chain of six of branches across the city is a safe, if unremarkable, bet for a bite to eat while out on the tourist trail. The classic Catalan and Spanish dishes here lack character, but they are always fresh, competently executed, and served by a cheerful staff.

Three of us ate lunch here on our first day in Barcelona. Two of us had a glass of wine. The total bill was $94. The place has charm appeal but caters to tourist. The food is so-so. Two of the tapas were so greasy we could not bring ourselves to eat them. I would not recommend this restaurant.
