Fodor's Review

This simple shrine to succulent meat dishes is the perfect antidote to the sensory overload of Gaudí's nearby Sagrada Família. A past winner of the Chef of the Year award in the annual Fòrum Gastronòmic de Girona, Dani Lechuga produces streamlined cuisine that is invariably long on taste and short on cost, especially if you take advantage of the bargain lunch prix-fixe menu or 10-course tasting menu. A specialist in beef of all kinds (Wagyu, Kobe, Angus, Girona, Asturian oxen), Lechuga has also opened Bardeni next door to complement Caldeni's traditional restaurant design. This "meat bar" doesn't take bookings but offers an informal, walk-in-and-graze tapas menu of things like steak tartare and slices of rare filet mignon.
