In the upper part of the Eixample below Diagonal, this contemporary hotel offers impeccable service and a central location for middle and upper Barcelona. (In the other direction, you're only a half-hour walk from the waterfront.) It's named for its proximity to the city's prime art-gallery district, a few blocks away on Consell de Cent. Rooms are comfortable, with contemporary decor in black and beige, espresso machines, hardwood floors, and good soundproofing: like the lobby, without much personality, generic but perfectly presentable. The Gallery is geared up for business travelers, but gets a lot of tourist trade as well.
