Duquesa de Cardona

Passeig de Colom 12, Barcelona, Catalonia, 08002, Spain

A refurbished 17th-century townhouse, built when the Passeig de Colom in front was lined with the summer homes of the nobility, this hotel on the waterfront is a five-minute walk from everything in the Barri Gòtic and Barceloneta, and no more than a 30-minute's walk to the Eixample. Rooms have whimsical papered feature walls behind the bed, tall double French windows; decors are in soft grays and beige, with splashes of red in the furniture; some of the larger Privilege rooms have two extra sofa beds–-a snug but comfortable fit for a family. Port-facing rooms have excellent soundproofing. The breakfast room, with its wonderful high arched and vaulted ceiling, is set in what was once the courtyard of the house, for horses and carriages. The rooftop terrace, with a plunge pool and tapas bar, affords a spectacular view of the harbor and marina.
