Houses / Mansions, Eixample
Fodor's Review:
The neo-Gothic and plateresque (intricately carved in silversmith-like detail) facade of this house built in 1904 for Baron Quadras has one of the most spectacular collections of Eusebi Arnau sculptures in town (other Arnau sites include the Palau de la Música Catalana, Quatre Gats-Casa Martí, Casa Amatller, and Casa Lleó Morera). Look for the theme of St. George slaying the dragon once again, this one in a spectacularly vertiginous rush of movement down the facade. Don't miss the intimate-looking row of alpine chalet-like windows across the top floor. Casa Àsia, an excellent and comprehensive resource for cultural and business-related research, opened here in 2003.
