This good-value hotel between Passeig de Gràcia and Pau Claris offers contemporary technology, minimalist design, and a central Eixample location. Small rooms have plenty of light and are appointed with crisp furnishings. The owners are the Gimeno sisters of the nearby Gimeno design store, so it's no wonder the place is sleek and hip. Some rooms have views of Gaudí's La Pedrera rippling around the corner of Passeig de Gràcia. Pros: a contemporary design triumph with smart public spaces, helpful and friendly service. Cons: rooms are small, and those on the street side can be noisy.

Great stay at Hotel Actual

Great location out of the tourist trap of the ramblas, but within easy walking distance. One down side is that because this is a business district, many things are closed on Sundays (think restaurants). However the hotel was quiet, clean and modern altough the room, all the same size, are a wee bit small if you have a lot of luggage. Casa Batllo and Casa Milà are right around the corner.
