A three-line metro system is scheduled to open in Seville in late 2008. The Seville subway system will cover a distance of 19 km (13 mi) and runs from Mairena de Aljarafe to Montequinto with 23 stations, including Puerta de Jerez and Plaza de Cuba. A surface tramway line originating in Plaza Nueva runs through Avenida de la Constitución and Puerta de Jerez to Prado de San Sebastián.
