Fodor's Review:

This inn, restaurant, and agricultural museum on a back street is one of Úbeda's most characteristic concentrations of charm, folklore, and authentic regional cuisine. The migas (bread crumbs, sausage, bacon, and garlic) are a typical dish, as are the andrajos (a stew of fish, pasta, and vegetables).

My husband and I stumbled upon this hotel/restaurant/agriculture museum and stopped in for a great traditional dinner. The museum artifacts are throughout the property (the front of the building, the bar, the restaurant, the bathrooms), which adds charm to the experience. The staff was very friendly, and the owner even invited us in to the kitchen after our meal to see the hot wood burning oven where our meal was cooked. It was clear that he is passionate about his business and we enjoyed talking with him. Everything on the menu is not always available because they cook with fresh ingredients (I’d rather be told to come back on Tuesday for the wild boar than have them feed me something frozen). We were also there during the off season, so business was slow. We shared an order of Migas and an entrée with goat. We asked for the andrajos de Ubeda, a local stew with seafood, meat, pasta, and vegetables and were told it would be available the following day. We went back the next day for lunch to try the soup before leaving Ubeda and were very glad we did. The soup was full of flavor, seafood, and vegetables, among other things, and didn’t have too much salt (which we found to be frequent problem on our trip). The food was reasonably priced and a good value for what we got. We would have definitely gone back for another meal if we were staying more than one night in Ubeda. I recommend the restaurant at La Posada de Ubeda for anyone looking for reasonably priced, flavorful, well cooked, traditional food served by friendly people who are passionate about what they do.
