San Marco

San Marco Review

In a 17th-century palace on one of the most charming pedestrian streets in the shopping district, this elegant restaurant has original frescoes, stately columns, and a gracious patio flanked by cascading ivy, and the menu combines Italian, French, and Andalusian cuisine. Pasta dishes, such as ravioli stuffed with shrimp and pesto sauce, are notable, but it's the decor that occupies center stage. The restaurant has two satellites, including one in the heart of the Santa Cruz district in a similarly historic building—an original Arab bathhouse. This one has the edge, however, as far as culinary skill is concerned.
