By the west side of the Mezquita, close to the tourist office, La Abacería has a large bar, a pleasing open central patio, and, usually, a full restaurant. It has homemade tapas: patatas allioli (potatoes in allioli sauce), berenjenas fritas (fried eggplant), calamares fritos or plancha (squid fried or grilled), and tortilla de patatas (Spanish potato omelet), all sold in half or full portions.
