A small tree-lined square in the heart of the Barrio de Santa Cruz makes an unbeatable setting for this hotel. It's known for its bodega, which is mentioned in Zorilla's popular 19th-century play Don Juan Tenorio, and for the adjoining restaurant, which specializes in traditional local cuisine, such as pollo a la Sevillana (chicken in a rich gravy) and espinacas (spinach) and squid in garlic. The rooms are a relatively recent addition, and are spotlessly clean and simply furnished. Pros: Exciting location in the thick of the Jewish Quarter, pretty square and rooms, reasonably priced. Cons: Rooms small, street side rooms noisy, some interior rooms airless.
