On the Rocío-Matalascañas road, this convivial, one-story Andalusian farm-hacienda is perched on the park's edge, a mere 1 km (½ mi) from the visitor center at La Rocina. Spend a relaxed evening with fellow nature lovers in comfy chairs by the fireplace in the large common lounge. Pick a colorfully decorated room, or a bungalow that sleeps two to four, with a kitchenette and small private garden. Some rooms and bungalows have fireplaces. There are stables on the premises, and the hotel can arrange horseback rides on the fringes of the park. Pros: Ne plus ultra observation point over Doñana, rustic retreat. Cons: Mosquitoes, gnats, sand fleas, heat in midsummer.
