Bohinj is a natural base for exploring the trails of the Triglav National Park. Before heading out, pick up a good trail map from the tourist-information center. The cable car to Vogel is an excellent starting point for many of the walks. Just remember to start early, wear proper hiking boots, take plenty of water, and protect yourself against the sun. Other popular warm-weather pursuits include swimming, biking, rafting, canyoning, and horseback riding. In winter you can ski at the ski areas of Vogel and Kobla.
