This old-fashioned, ivy-covered resort hotel has been favored by British travelers since the 1920s. Directly on the lake, the main building has balconies and big windows from which you can take in dramatic views of the castle and the Julian Alps. The rooms, lounges, and bar are all furnished with antiques and heirloom rugs. It's worth the splurge for a lakeside room.
