Fodor's Review

About 5 miles south of the causeway from Grimsay to Benbecula, atop Rueval Hill, stands the 30-foot-high statue of the Madonna and Child known as Our Lady of the Isles. The local Catholic community erected the statue, the work of sculptor Hew Lorimer, in 1957, after the Ministry of Defence had proposed using the area for military purposes
