Polochar Inn Review

With its own standing stone surviving the rough winds off the sea, the Polochar Inn sits at the southern end of South Uist. Run by Morag and Margaret MacKinnon since 2005, the inn is charming and has been upgraded in recent years. Inexpensive smaller rooms (as befits the 300-year-old historic building) are simply decorated. Off the beaten track, the hotel is near Eriskay and the ferry to Barra, with sea views and paths through the countryside.
