Road to Elgol

Road to Elgol Review

The B8083 leads from Broadford to one of the finest views in Scotland. This road passes through Strath Suardal and little Loch Cill Chriosd (Kilchrist) by a ruined church. You can appreciate breathtaking views of the mountain called Bla Bheinn as the A881 continues to Elgol, a gathering of crofts along this road that descends to a pier. Admire the heart-stopping profile of the Cuillin peaks from the shore, or, at a point about halfway down the hill, you can find the path that goes toward them across the rough grasslands.

Bella Jane. Take a boat trip on the Bella Jane toward Loch Coruisk, where you'll be able to see seals. The three-hour round-trip excursions, available April to October (and sometimes beyond), cost £24 per person. Elgol jetty, B8083, Elgol, IV49 9BJ. 01471/866244.
